Too Convenient To Write

I have two blogs; Japanese one and this one.  Japanese one can be seen and written on my smart phone so easily that this blog has been left with no articles so long.  I was appalled at seeing my latest article date.

When I got my phone, its display seemed great to see news and weather infomation, and check my PC e-mails while I am out.  But gradually, I began to do anything with the phone.  This morning I had some e-mails to reply with attached document files, I opened my laptop PC.  I felt that the PC became far bigger and heavier than it really is.

"When the letters on the display became so big ?"  I've said to myself several times while I was writing this article. Oh, I need to "rehab."

Two Miracles In May

Their pale pink wings are beautiful.  Some ibis chicks left their nests.  When I saw them on TV, I thought it was a miracle.  The flying birds, which were once known extinct, seemed to me that they gave a beam of hope.  I'm looking forward to their growth and breeding .

Another miracle is "the return of the penguin,"  which escaped from an aquarium in Tokyo in March.  The news that it was found alive surprised me.  The penguin has been missing for 82 days!  Born and raised up in the aquarium, it should be impossible to survive.

Dr.Dolittle somewhere, could you talk to the birds and show us their stories?

Mother's Day Rose

In these three years, I sent my mother a seedling pot of rose for Mother's Day.  She likes gardening very much, and she especially loves rose.

When May comes,  I ask her which color of rose she wants.  I have sent yellow and pink already.  " I want red, but expensive?"  said she hesitately.  Red rose would be the symbol of "luxury" to her.

No problem.  I know one of the most famous rose farms; "Keisei Bara Engei " in Chiba.  I got to know the farm by NHK gardening program "Shumi no Engei." It has a shopping website (and you can choose by inputting color, size of a flower, strength of fragarance, for beginners, etc.
http://www.keiseirose.co.jp/ )

I ordered a pot of new seedling. The pot will be delivered in the late of this month.  My Mother's Day present is always late for the day, but it's OK because my mother has been enjoying the roses I sent.
"shikizaki"(literally, all season blooming) types of them gives her a beautiful view four times or more a year.

How To Win A (Small) Prize

While I was having supper yesterday, the door bell rang.  I got a parcel from a confectioner. The firm held a "candy campaign" last month.

Inside were a lot of candy (ten bags!) and a canvas bag made by "Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu" in Kyoto.
Today I brought one bag of candy to my office.  Some co-workers asked me how to get a prize.  They are quite interested in getting prizes in campaigns and have entered many canpaigns, but they've never won.

I don't have any special tips for getting prizes but I have a few rules; before I enter a campaign I always ask if  I really want this present.  If not, I don't enter it.  When I get a prize luckily, I let my family and friends receive a share of the things I get.

I believe that things (not only money) are great traveler in the world.

The Tiny Trainer Cheers Me Up

I have a multi-pedometer. I bought it at a drugstore last month, and I go to work with it everyday. The function which I got interested in most is showing how many calories are used not only by walking but also by other daily activities.  When you start using it, you have only to input your age, sex, and weight.

I make it a rule to see how many calories I've used in a day before going go bed, which gives me confidence in my getting healthier day by day.  If  I'm not satisfied with the result, I'll eat less the next day.  I don't give up sweets and  I walk more the next day.
No weights gained since I go out with the pedometer.  Walking is becoming one of my hobbies now.

Mushrooms Are Stil Growing

I've downloaded the newest version of the game.  There are three seasons (stages) and you can see cutier Namekos; a snowman-like one in winter, a schoolgirl-like one (who is in love!) in St. Valentine's Day, and a cherry blossom-like one in spring.

In the new version less "new" Namekos are found than in the older one.  But the game keeps me in fun; you can get lovely "wallpapers" for a cell phone display by the points got in the game.

When you are not playing the game,  you can see cute mushrooms on your cell phones.

It's Go Time, Penguins' Fans!

I got an e-mail from Amazon.co.jp, which brought me a very exciting news.  Two DVDs (for Japan) of "Penguins from Madagascar" will be on sale at last!

Amazon and TSUTAYA (chain stores where you can buy magazines, CDs and DVDs) advertised that the DVDs were released last Spring.  However, no "arrival infomation" came.  I don't know why they will be sold so later than the noticed date.

The strongest penguins in the world will come to Japan in the middle of July.   Let's give them a big hand, no, flipper!

A Bold Banner In The Ballpark

I'm now watching the game between Giants and Dragons on TV (BS-TBS).  Giants was  2 runs behind when I turned on the TV, and I made a sigh.

Oh, my goodness!  Wada (Dragons) hit a three-run homer.  5 runs behind, that's helpless.  I was so angry that I wanted to turn off the TV, but my finger didn't touch the "off" button on a remote controller.  Instead I burst into laughter.

Wada took off his helmet after he came back to the bench.  His bald head was closed up.  I  laughed not at his head, but at a big banner held by fans which was closed up right after that.  It said, " Wada, A Bright Man."  I've never seen such an impressive banner to let me forget the scores.

April 22:  I'm very sorry for the sparkling player to have made a mistake in his name.  His name is not Takeda.  I must have been too upset.

A Ball Game On My Palm

I went home later than usual.  While I was waiting for my bus, I watched the game between Yomiuri Giants and Yokohama DeNA Baystars on TV in my smart phone. The game started at six.

This is the first time for me to watch TV in such a tiny display.  It was raining and my bus would be late.  Anyway I was watching the game.  Giants' captain Abe hit his first homerun this season!

My bus came very late but I didn't get irritated by that.  However, it was frustrating me to watch TV without sound ; I should have bought a earphone.

I went home and turned on the TV.  "Run, Suzuki!" "Go, Giants, go!"   I found that it's more frustrating not to cheer my favorite team silently.

A Sweeping Weeping Victory

Rain gives me a headache and the defeats of favorite teams a pain in my stomach.  Yomiuri Giants, the team I like best, got off to a bad start.  And another favorite team, Yokohama DeNA Baystars is in the last place of the Central League.

While watching the game between Giants and Chunichi Dragons on TV, I got to know that Yokohama DeNA Baystars won the game by 7 points .   It's their second win in this season and it was a called-game because of rain.  I wept a little.

"After rain comes fair weather."  It's been raining outside, my headache is gone.  Giants, it's your turn to get rid of my pain!

50% Juice'n Soda

I like 100% fruit juice.  There's a one-litter juice bottle in my refrigerator all year round.  I'd like to take Vitamin C every day.

However, when it's getting warmer, 100 fruit juice sometimes tastes a bit heavy.  Today I went to buy a big PET bottle of soda water.  I was too thirsty when I came back home.  I mix the soda and the juice. A healthy and refreshing drink is coming right up!

Dande-lion Heart

When I get up in the morning, I open a window in front of a porch.   Fresh air is comfortable.  About a week ago, I found a plant.

It's been growing out a small crack in the floor at the porch.  I don't know where its seed is from, but imagining the seed with down made a long journey has me smile.

It's there.  Even after a furious storm a few days ago,  dandelion is still there.  I 'm amazed at its strength.

Toast To Cherry Blossoms

I had more time than usual around noon, and walked to a bakery "DONQ."  This bakery has many branches and most of them are found in department stores.

Fresh-baked breads seem quite delicious.  I chose a bacon and asparagus bread and a custard cream pastry.  Just before going to the cashier, I found a small pot of jam.

It's a limited pot jam of cherry blossoms.  Do you see pale whilte petals?  I'm looking forward to having this jam on a toast this weekend.

Adelie, Her Partner, And The Twenty Birds

My partner and I had to give up having kids.  Minute examinations last weekend showed that there's almost 0% to take in vitro fertilization.  Both of us have "troubles."  Our challenge ended.

When I left the hospital,  I shed tears while walking to the car where he's waiting for me.  He dropped his shoulders and said, " Sad, actually. But let's not make our lives a misery, shall we?  We must not forget that we've already had twenty kids."

That means "stuffed dolls" in our house.  We like birds and have twenty birds. Some are very famous characters like Pingu and Pinga, Munsingwear Penguin.  Some are characters in cartoons or TV shows.
Souvenirs from aquariums.  Spring Toy Birds.

Yes.  Twenty kids are with us.  That night we went to a restaurant to have "a farewell-to-past party."  Good wine, wonderful meals.  We started out in life as a childless and happy couple.

Take Me To a G-B game!

I'm a baseball fan and I like Yomiuri Giants very much.  Today 6 openers took place.  To my regret, Giants lost the first game.

Good rookies and new managers will arouse fans this season.  One of such rookies is Yuki Saito( Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters) , a pitcher.  He is so expected that he shows himself as a starter in the opener.  Four new managers come.  They were superstars when I was a teenager.  Among them, I 'm going to cheer Kiyoshi Nakahata (Yokohama DeNA Baystars) .  His sunny disposition will make the team more attractive.

As I don't live in a big city, it's difficult to watch baseball games in stadiums.  However I don't give up watching a game between Giants and Baystars in a stadium.

A Long Nightmare

Some say that they dream that they are late for the exams and jump out of bed even after they graduate from schools.  I've seen such a dream very often when I was a student, but now I don't. Instead  monsters which I feared as a child while watching a hero drama appear in my dreams.

"Shockers" which wear black costumes with horrible white bone-like paint were tools of the Evil in "Kamen Rider." They cried in a strange voice.  When I went on an errand for my mother, I ran as fast as I could not as to be kidnapped by them.

Long time passed.  I can enjoy old dramas without any horror.   However, I stop stunned when I see a group of people in black sportwear ( to make matters worse, white lines are on them) running out of the corner, I was astonished.  The childhood fear still seems to remain in my memory.

Smart Sleep

I downloaded "Sleep as Android" application.  It's not just an alarm clock.  It has a censor which records its user's sleeping patterns and rings at the best time before the time set.

The "best" time means the time when the user's sleep is the lightest.  I've used the application's free trial version for two weeks.  I could get up more comfortably than before.

If you don't have your battery of your smart phones run out of electricity during your sleep, this application will be one of your best alarm clocks!

Roundabout

When my health certificate was given, I found a pieceof paper sticked on it.  It says "Your eating habit is not so bad.  Exercise more."  I took the paper off, and found a horrible result.  Over 300!  Too high cholesterol readings!   I will not to take the shortest way from my house to the bus stop from tomorrow.

Mushroom Growing Report 3

There are only four kinds of mushrooms to be found.  My virtual lab can grow more mushrooms in a shorter time.  I've discovered toadstools, too.

Sometimes I got shocked at monster-like things that may not be called mushrooms.  I thought of rejecting them, but such strange things are illustrated as Nameko-to-be-grown  in the list.  So growers should admit that they have "mushroom rights."

Business as usual, anyway.

A Woman In Black

Black make my love life colorful?   Do I need "clothes for passion," too?

Today I blushed at buying black under-somethings, my goodness, for the first time in my life! Now a  shower of "How old in the world are you?" from my friends are coming to my phone.

I didn't know that I was too conservative.

The Crown Of Thorns ("Aibou" 10 spoiler ahead)

The TV drama "Aibou" Season 10 ended.  The lieutenant Kanbe will go his own way to see justice done, after pretending to prevert the course of justice.  His boss Sugishita with a distressed look, after reading Kanbe's real intention, chose a merciful way to settle the matter.

But that means they will not be able to work together.  Kanbe, with remorse for challenging his boss "cruelly" (in fact, Kanbe was caught up in a power game between the Police and the Government) had to leave Sugishita.  Both of them got hurted and Kanbe was shifted to the organization which is the forefront of the power game.

However, there is a man who understand the two men of justice.  Haruki Okouchi, Top Inspector, respects and admires Sugishita and he has known Kanbe for a long time.  It seems to me that Okouchi helped them not to have an invisible barrier against each other.

Anyway, Kanbe didn't die.  However, the prince took the crown of thorns and I hope he'll fight for the right with a sword of courage and justice that he learned under Sugishita.

I will miss Kanbe very much, but I'm looking forward to the next season.

Prince Charming Is Leaving

I'm feeling uneasy about his "graduation" from the Police.  Today my prince charming, lieutenant Takeru Kanbe (singer Mitsuhiro Oikawa plays the role) is leaving.

I've never been into a TV drama before.  "Aibou", a long-run policier, has made many unique and attractive characters.  I'm a fan of Mitsuhiro Oikawa, and 3 years ago, I cried with joy to know he appeared in the drama.

In ten minutes, the last story of this season 10 starts.  Don't make him a martyr to duty!

Since Yesterday

I took the first examination for sterlie women.  I 've been very nervous and worried.  ( Even a blood test has had me fallen down in a faint. ) The nurse gave a lot of care to her work. She was talking to me very kindly, and my blood sample was taken while I was enjoying talking with her!

Then I saw the director of the hospital.  He spoke in a calm voice with wit and humor.  Taking out a lot of paper to explain further examination and  possible treatments, he said to me, " Your homework, ma'am.  Don't worry too much, as it's not a pop quiz.  But you and your partner have to study hard."  "I ... We will, doctor," I answered.

Then I  paid the check.  About 30000 yen.  After I left, about 4 hours passed. It was a very expensive and long day.  But I keep a good heart.

In Front Of The Second Door

I'm going to see a gynecologist tomorrow.  That worries me more seriously than any interviews and examinations that I had taken.

What kind of examinations should  I undergo, and how many?  I do understand that life without kids may be unlucky but never be unhappy.  I whined to my partner.

"Any discouraging results never changes you and me, never."  I will go to the second door with his words.

A Parabola Made It

A parabola was placed on my apartment porch with no trouble.  My partner and I contracted with Sky Perfectv.  Among an incredible number pay channels, we chose two; Fuji TV Next (1260yen/month)and CNNj(945yen/month).

My partner didn't miss his favorite Formula 1. He looks happy to have watched a preliminary race ( he's  checked the results on the cell phone for long years.)

Well, this is my turn to watch world news and brush up my English listening skill.

New Golden Oldies

I got to like a J-POP group "Ikimonogakari." It's a band where a woman sings and two men play guitars and other insruments.  In convenience stores, on TV commercials, their songs are heard very often.  Their songs are pop and catchy.

Kiyoe Yoshioka, the vocalist, has an expressive voice.  The words are simple and refined,  and they are sang with no strange manners. Their messages seem to communicate themselves to me.  I saw their TV interview and came to know that people of all ages and both sexes come alone, in couples, in families, to the group's concerts.  I think that this is a group of much note.

Playing Rico's Way

Though I have not indulged in the video games, I like some "puzzle" games where a player matich identical color of blocks and "erase" them.  TETRIS is too difficult for me to play, but "Puyo Puyo" and "ZOOKEEPER" are my favorite ones.

I downloaded a game similar to the two games.  What attracted me most is the sound when erasing the blocks; KABOOM!

I'd like to play the game with Rico of the Penguins.

Forget, And It Shall Be Given You

I received a small package.  The label on the top of it says that it 's for me and the item is a bottle of suppliment.  But I didn't order any suppliment.  The word "fraud" came into my mind.

Anyway, I opened the package and  found a sheet of paper. It starts with "Conglatulations! You are one of the winners!"  Reading the paper, I understood what happened to me at last.

In late January, I wrote a reader survey on a postcard attached with a magazine.  Some presents are given to the lucky people among those who sent the survey.  I completely forgot writing the survey.

It's interesting that whenever I look forward to the winner announcement, nothing comes to me.
Now a bottle of royal jelly for 1 month ( I've never bought because it's expensive) sits on a table.

Lucky me!

A Tiny Trainer

A pedometer which I 've used for ten years broke, and I bought a new one at a drugstore.  How small it is!
It is only 22g, and has far more functions than the old one.

MT-KT01 made by TERUMO can count even how much calories you burn not by walking but also by any other daily activity.  Even the day you miss your walking time, for instance, when the heavy rain falls or just you don't feel like walking, you don't have to be discouraged.

The tiny trainer, in your pocket, always shows "now you are consuming calories."  It seems to me that it is a very patient and generous private trainer.

Mushroom Growing Report 2

Since I wrote the last report, I've  found 3 new "Nameko" mushrooms; No.07 (a slant one), 08 (a very hard one ), and 09 (with thorns).

I went out with a friend of mine this evening.  My laboratory left unchecked for a long time. Now I saw it, the tree where the mushrooms grow went moldy!  The mold had to be rubbed off by a finger.

New mushrooms give higher points than those grown in the earlier stage.  I changed some of the points into a stronger light, a bigger themal machine.

I got to feel like a company owner as well as a botanist.

Love Me, Love My Phone Number

When I was a small child, in the days with no cell phones, my parents made me remember my address and two phone numbers; those of my house and a house nextdoor.  Even if I had some troubles when I was out, I could connect with my family anyway.

The March 11 disaster last year got me to need a stronger "kizuna" (bond) between people, but since I got a cell phone, I've never kept any phone numbers in mind. I just don't have to do so as the phone records all.   To my shame,  I sometimes forget my own cell phone number.

Feeling horrified,  I decided to put off the habit. I started writing down the numbers on the directory in my smart phone.  My family members' cell phone numbers have just been memorized.

Opening A Door

"Not again!"  I threw a thermometer away and pulled my blanket over my head.  A hail of of abuse to myself woke up my partner in dismay.

We don't have kids.  I have been checking my basal body temperature for a year.  But no good news has come.  My getting degrees, diseases, our changing jobs, moving, other family matters cut in our life.  Of course, nobody lives  a perfect and comfortable life without any worries.   However, we are not young now, helplessness is becoming bigger and bigger.

He soothed me and said that we had to open a door.  I got to know what he meant : it's time to visit a gynecologist .  I hesitated.  My biggest worry is that medical checks will expose who's "guily" in sterility. I'm very afraid that the result may change the state of our relationship.   You may think that I 'm too pessimistic, however,  in fact, some of my friends lost their partners.

We went to a clinic.  While filling a counseling sheet with my partner, I got calm little by little.  We had an appointment of the first examination and came home.  I was able to breathe again.

Anyway, the first door was opened.

Voices From Posters

At a station, I found many new posters on the walls.  Each of them has a photo featuring the people in 3.11 disaster areas and their words. Walking down the stairs, I stopped in front of a poster.  I was impressed by one of the words of a family in Kamaishi.

The posters can be seen on the website   http://fukkou-noroshi.jp/  too.  Most of the site is seen in English.
But the word isn't translated in English, and I want to introduce it here.

"isshoni kanashimu koto yorimo anatano shigotowo isshokemmei ni yattehoshii ."
(Literally, "We would rather want you to put your affair in order, than to feel sorrow with us.)  I understand the word "Please don't have you too depressed by our sorrow."

The word sounds forceful to me.

Mushroom Growing Report

On the screen of my smart phone, I started growing Nameko (mushroom) about a week ago.  I have found 4 new kinds of them; No.03 (pale), 04 (a little scary), 05 (very tall), 06 (a twin).

I check "my laboratory" only a few times a day, so the game is going very slowly.  More and more mushrooms are growing day by day.  Gathering the grown is pleasant, and whenever I find a new one, I feel as if I were a botanist.

It's a curious game, indeed.

Vegetable Soup Day

Feeling a little upset in my stomach, I reached at the medicine cabinet.  I was cooking soup for my supper.  After a minute's consideration, I put meat into a freezer and opened a can of boiled soybeans instead.

I'm not a vegetarian, but sometimes I feel that meat sits heavy on my stomach.  The soup has cabbage, onion, carrot, potato, turnip, "shiitake" mashroom, and tomato.  It's seasoned with salt and pepper.  No consomme cube.

It was a light and right meal for me today.

The Tragedy of "B"

How many do Japanese people really like "Blood Group Talk"?  I'm sick of being asked of mine.  Some get surprised, some nod saying " Just as I imagined", and so what?  It' no wonder.  Group A can be seen among over 40% of Japanese.

Frowning at the person who asked me would be childish, and I make it a rule to change the topic, especially when someone told  "Mine is group B."  I don't believe any Blood Type Personality Advice, but the only thing I can say is Group B blood person is apt to be made fun of by the people present.

A Young Penguin Missing

I was surprised at the news that a year-old penguin ran (I don't think it is an appropriate word, though) away from an aquarium in Tokyo and some people saw him/her swimming in the nearby river.

That reminds me of the news that a penguin in Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium was kidnapped some years ago and the suspect was arrested.  The suspect was going to take the bird into a big bag and sell it.

How could a young penguin get out of the aquarium?  As a great fan of "The Penguins from Madagascar", I can imagine four penguins of the Special Forces offered the missing their soda jet (a plastic bottle of soda carried on the shoulder, and big wings to wear .)secretly to fly in the sky.

I hope the penguin will be found soon.

A Parabola Problem

My partner and I don't watch TV much.  We don't set a parabola to see programs broadcasted by satellite, Living in an old apartment without a parabola to watch programs broadcasted by satellite, there has been no problem until this spring.

Formula 1, a quite famous car race,  can't be watched on our TV.  That means, one of the biggest pleasures for my partner is being lost. " How terrible it is not to be able to watch Kamui (Kobayashi, a Japanese new star driver ) !" shouted he, and ran to an electric appliance store and he's still there now.

Whether a parabola can be set properly in a porch or not is a problem.  If not, are we going to move? No way.    I hope that things will go right.

Mushrooms On A Phone

I downloaded one of the popular game applications; Nameko Growing Kit.  "Nameko" is a kind of mushrooms.  It's a free application and easy to play.

The mushrooms have funny faces and when grown, they are "reaped" by sliding fingers on them to a box.  The number of them becomes, as NPs (Nameko Points), can be used to buy things for better and more reaping .  There are 30 kinds of Nameko registered, and a player can enjoy not only growing them but also
finding a different kind of them.

Oh, a new Nameko comes out!   Where is a fertilizer?

Lips Talk

I was browsing the catalogs of eye care cosmetics.  My partner looked at me and heaved an audible sigh, which irritated me a little.

"Don't you feel unhappy when I look older with wrinkles around my eyes? "

"I may do, but I do feel unhappier and depressed when your lips become rough. You know, I always close my eyes when ..."

I threw away the catalogs, without waiting for the end of his words.

"Sakura" Clips

An academic year starts in April in Japan.  At stationary shops you can see more and more "cherry blossoms" on writing paper, postcards, stamps, and so on.

I found cute paper clips. It may be characteristic of Japanese to connect five thin, heart-shaped petals with "sakura" (a cherry blossom.)

In March, tons of paper  come and go at my office.  Most of them are year-end reports.  While dealing with them, I sometimes feel that it's still in the middle of a winter.  The "sakura" clips will remind me that spring is here.

Enter Key Crazy?

I have two blogs; this one and a Japanese blog which I started last May.  A week has passed since I started this blog.  During this week, I noticed that I had a strange habit.

Enter key is tapped too often when I 'm writing Japanese.  In fact, on a small display of  a cell phone, Japanese paragraphs with many "kanjis" (Chinese characters) sometimes seem overwhelming.  So many bloggers make a sentence short, and they often make blanks.

A survey says that a good-looking sentence in a Japanese blog is written with about 10 letters in one line.  However, on a PC screen, the article looks too thin.  On a smart phone ( 20 letters in one line looks fine on mine) the article is hard to read.

After all, I decided to write my Japanese blog the same way when in English.  I don't want to be "Enter Key Crazy" any more.

April At A Bookstore

I bought the April issue of  "MISS" for the first time.  The magazine features conservative and cute fashon.  I was taken by "Spring Coordinate Tips"and the article for better hair dressing when wearing a stole.

I like stoles but I 'm weary of seeing my hair unruly when I take a stole off. Especially in a windy day,  the first thing to do at my office is resetting my hair.

A changeable weather in this spring will be no more bother to me!

A Bird Person

"Are you a cat person or a dog person?" is very common quiestion.
I like both animals, but to answer honestly, I'm "a bird person."

When a child, my father brought young parakeets home. Very small
and warm chicks are very cute.  I used to run home every day to take
care of them.  Once I 've seen a chick came out of an egg, I counl't
express how happy I  was.

Now I can't have any pets in my apartment.  I live with many stuffed
bird dolls. Most of them are penguins, some parakeets.

I visit zoos, auariums, and other facilities to see especially birds.
One of my favorite places is "Kachoen " in Kobe.  There you
can have a good time with many flowers and birds.

Road Warriors In Tokyo

Tokyo Marathon was held today.

My favorite runner is Yuki Kawauchi.  He's  a civil servant
and he's called a star "Citizen Runner." Unluckily, he finished
this race 14th.

Though sitting in front of a TV, I was watching the race as if I
had been one of the people lining the running route.

Every runner seemed to me dynamic, brave, and elegant.
Marathon races always excite me.

Vocabulary Wanted

My latest TOEIC official score certificate came.

It's 45 points lower than the score I 'd got the last time
in 2010.  I felt down about the result.

Reading advice on the accompanying paper, I found
I had to work much harder to build up my vocabulary.

Writing a blog in English is more difficult than I imagined.
In fact, it takes at least 1.5 hours to write what I wrote in
15 minutes in Japanese.  However, I'm getting excited with
writing in English day by day.

Marguerite Attacked Me

I bought a small bunch of flowers and put it into a vase
on the table in the living room.

Looking at pretty flowers was very relaxing...only for a while.
Suddelny I started coughing, feeling ichy on my face and neck.

I have a cedar pollen allergy and I have taken the appropriate
medical care. Checking "pollen scattering" infomation on TV is
on my to-do list every morning at this time of the year.

Worrying that my allergy' s getting worse, I went to my doctor.
He just told me not to touch marguerite. I didn't know the flower
could cause allergy.

There are only some blades of grass in the vase now.
No flower without pollen, indeed. I'm feeling sad as if one
of my friends had left me.

Spring Pink Has Come Again

In the old days, one of my friends told me that pink didn't
suit me.  I was too sensitive to her words.  Then the color
was kicked out of my clothes and cosmetics.

I dropped in a clothing store after work a few days ago.
When I reached for a beige cotton sweater, a clerk's words
surprised me.

"Excuse me, ma'am, the beige is good, but I think this pink
one looks better on you."

I tried on both sweaters, and found that my face looked
brighter in pink than in beige. I decided to buy the pink one.

What a waste for me to have lived a pink-less life! I am now
thinking of trying a pink lipstick.

No "Partners" Wednesday

Today there's no "Aibou"(Partners) on TV.  It's my favorite
policier drama.

I love Ukyo Sugishita, a clear-headed, straight, stubborn
man of justice, who solves crimes excellently. He reminds
me of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot.

Other characters, too, attract me a lot.  I'm looking forward
to the next Wednesday.
